One-Day Workshop
"Moving Towards Respect," a workshop on combating prejudice and hate through classroom curriculum, will be held on your choice of dates above. Barry van Driel, from the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, will facilitate the workshops, assisted by Cor Suijk, President of the Contemporary Holocaust Education Foundation (CHEF) in Cincinnati, Ohio. Holocaust survivor Renee Firestone will speak; and David Lorenzen and Holly Lovely, from our partner KNME TV 5, will facilitate a session.
Which workshop should I attend?
Two-Day Workshop:
If you DID NOT attend the workshop, "From the Holocaust to the Present," in October, 2001, you should come to the two-day workshop, where you will receive introductory and follow-up training as well as curriculum materials. Choose either September 16-17 or September 18-19.
One-Day Workshop:
If you DID attend the workshop, "From the Holocaust to the Present," in October, 2001, you should attend the one-day workshop, which is the follow-up. You already have the materials. Choose either September 17 or September 19.

Plan Early for Morris Dees Event
Set aside November 7, 2002, to take your classes to a 10 AM presentation by Morris Dees, National Chairman of the Teaching Tolerance project of the Southern Poverty Law Center.
In our post-September 11 society, his message is particularly appropriate for today's students, who, in this high-tech world and with instant access to world events, have become more receptive to analyzing the motives behind such inhumane events and to understanding the dangers of discrimination.
Teaching Tolerance has produced numerous high-quality materials, which are described separately on our Links and Resources page.
As chief trial counsel for the Southern Poverty Law Center, Mr. Dees has successfully tracked and brought domestic hate perpetrators to justice over the last 20 years.
